The Australia-South Africa rivalry is another major feature of Australia’s involvement in international sporting competitions. When the Qantas Wallabies take on the Springboks in Brisbane, be prepared for an action-packed thriller.
The Springboks took out the Tri Nations Series in 2009 and it would be a great boost for our boys to beat the champions in front of a home crowd. Brisbane’s Suncorp Stadium is one of the most intimidating sporting venues in Australia for visiting teams, giving it the nickname “The Cauldron”. Be part of the capacity crowd to support the Qantas Wallabies and destabilise the confidence of the Springboks.
About Brisbane
Brisbane, the capital city of Queensland, is located in the state’s south eastern region. It’s modern and dynamic and constantly evolving with new additions to its structure. The Story Bridge is a key Brisbane landmark and is one of the oldest bridges in Australia. Pedestrians can walk along the bridge from Fortitude Valley to Kangaroo Point at each end of the bridge. The former is well known for its nightlife whilst the latter is a popular recreation spot for picnics and abseiling.
To enjoy scenic views of the city whilst dining out, enjoying a coffee or drinks with fellow fans, head to the South Bank Parklands where you’ll find a boardwalk and selection of cafes and restaurants.
