The International Rugby Sevens Adelaide in 2010 will provide fans with an opportunity to visit the beautiful city of Adelaide and to watch some impressive displays of sporting glory. Kicking off at twilight, fans will be able to see the first of the much awaited clashes against the backdrop of a stunning sunset.
With 16 countries competing, fans will be treated to three days of thrills and spills as over 40 matches are played during the tournament. The result of nonstop action taking place in a picturesque city equals a fantastic experience for fans as they watch some amazing talent on the field and explore exciting Adelaide in their free time.
Background to Sevens Rugby
According to Rugby Sevens folklore, the game was born in the Scottish town of Melrose in 1883 after an internal club dispute led to a breakaway group forming – only to result in neither club having enough players to play in the competition. It was the local butcher who saved the day when he suggested a seven-a-side format.
Rugby Sevens is famous for the speed and agility that players display on the field. Many famous rugby union players such as George Gregan and Jonah Lomu have used this game as a springboard for their illustrious careers. Rugby Sevens is set to gain more recognition when it makes its first appearance at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro

Packages start from just $490 per person based on twin/double share. Supplement will apply for single occupancy.
Tournament Tickets
Included in the package is a 3-Day General Admission tournament ticket. You can opt to upgrade to Reserved Seating for an additional $30 per person for the 3 days. The exact location of the seats cannot be disclosed until your final documents are posted approximately 21 days prior to your tour.
